Time for a Little “Work”
Sorry for the inconvenience as you must be wondering if the chicks have taken a long extended vacation. Well, yes and no.
Coach Olga is preparing for the 9-week very intense Bikram yoga instructor training scheduled in Los Angeles. As part of her training she will be practicing Bikram twice a day M-F and once on Saturday for a total of 99 classes. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Bikram yoga it is a structured set of 26 poses done in a specific order. A class is 90 minutes long in a heated room with temperatures at 105 degrees and I understand oftentimes the instructor training rooms are hotter! And, the humidity in the room measures about 50%. While the humidity isn’t “raining” on you…the rooms are packed with instructor-in-training students so oftentimes I understand your “neighbor” might be dripping on you!
Plus, all instructors need to memorize the carefully worded 90-minute dialogue that is spoken to a classroom of students. And, this dialogue includes memorizing the Hindi language names of the 26 poses! I think each pose is a word with 10 syllables!
Hats off to Coach Olga…as she will be an incredible instructor! Maybe she will write a few inspiring words from her training in LA!
Our skin care expert, Jackie is up to her eyeballs in beauty and now fashion. I think when she resurfaces, she will be sharing a few words of advice on style and clothing.
I’ve been very involved in creating an exciting new center located at 131 Wilmington Street, in downtown Raleigh called REDii. That acronym stands for Raleigh Emerging Designers Innovation Incubation which provides emerging entrepreneurial fashion designers with a retail space to showcase their fashions and business seminars on various topics such as selecting a retail location, determining margin, creating a business plan, negotiating skills for leases, vendor relationships and more! REDii just scheduled its official launch party scheduled on Wednesday night, May 23 between 7-10 p.m. at Solas, 419 Glenwood, Raleigh NC.
Plus, we chicks are also looking at evolving the blog to its next generation. Stay tuned!
